#2. Eligibility- All In-Service Untrained Teacher ( Govt. /Govt. Aided/ Non –Govt. Educational Institutions) Throughout the nation India. The minimum qualification required for admission in D.El.Ed. (ODL) for untrained in-service teachers is 50% marks in aggregate at Sr. Secondary (12^th Class) (or its equivalent). For SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates a relaxation of 5% marks is admissible according to Govt Act.

Government of India has notified a guideline for completing the training of untrained in-service elementary teachers throughout the nation. You have to complete NIOS D.El.Ed course within the period of time i.e. 31st March 2019.

Govt. of India has made it mandatory for completion of training by all in-service untrained elementary level teachers of Govt./Govt. Aided/ Non-Govt. Educational Institutions in the country within the extended period up to 31st March 2019.

It is mandatory for all in-service untrained elementary level teachers of Govt. /Govt. Aided/ Non –Govt. Educational Institutions are to complete their NIOS deled course, as well as the mandatory registration into SWAYAM Portal

The primary teachers who have earlier acquired any other primary teacher education diploma/certificate of less than two years which is not notified to be at par with D. El. Ed. by the concerned authorities will also have to undergo the D. El. Ed. Course.

NIOS will provide important books for the course. You will get all the study materials from the website for free during that course.

SWAYAM is providing online training for the candidates through their website and mobile app. A candidate also have to watch Swayamprabha TV channel on DD Dish TV and connect the set of box with NIOS website.This SWAYAM platform/portal helps all the teachers to be prepare for thesemester exam and prepare the assignment answers too.NIOS D. El. Ed. candidates have to register their name on swayam within 30th November 2017. Nios.ac.in has boldly announced this message regarding Swayam Registration by the in-service untrained teachers in India.

How it is essential to Get D. El. Ed. Training?

The untrained in-service teachers of Govt./Govt. Aided/ Non-Govt. Educational Institutions in the country should apply through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) Programme of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) who does not have requisite minimum professional qualifications mandated under the RTE Act, 2009.

It is the last chance for the untrained in-service elementary teachers to acquire the requisite minimum professional qualifications to continue their job after 31^st March-2019.Any teacher in Govt./Govt. Aided/Unaided–Private Schools, who will not have the minimum qualifications mandated under the RTE Act, 2019 and the procedure for discontinuation shall be initiated against such teachers.

Improvement of Percentage at Class XII for nios deled course:

In case a Teacher is not having 50% marks in aggregate at Sr. Secondary (Class12th) (General category) and 45% marks in aggregate at Sr. Secondary (Class12th)(For SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates), then NIOS Provides a chance for Improvement.For Improvement please register at NIOS Senior Secondary Course, under Stream 1 or Stream 4 (On Demand Examination) as Part Admission in 1 subject, or in 2 subject, or in 3 Subject, or in 4 Subject i.e maximum upto 4 Subjects only.

If the teacher is Graduate still the improvement of marks at class XII is applicable

On Passing, only Mark Statement will be issued

D.El.Ed. Certificate will be issued when you secure more than 50% Marks

Course Details of NIOS D.El.Ed.:

Teachers enrolled for the nios deled course, will be given instructions online through SWAYAM portal with separate arrangements for physical contact programme which is an integral part of the D.EI.ED course.Complete self learning material will be available on SWAYAM portal online and SWAYAM PRABHA educational DTH channel.

The teachers who do not fulfill the minimum academic eligibility requirement for taking admission in D. El .Ed programme in Class 12, such teachers can also enroll themselves simultaneously in NIOS for improvement in their Class 12 pass. percentage through On Demand Examination (ODES).

They would however be eligible for provisional admission in D. El. Ed programme of NIOS, and the D. El.Ed Certificate would be awarded to those teachers if they acquire the requisite percentage of marks in Class 12.

Fees for Nios D. El. Ed course:

The total course fee for the Online D. El. Ed Programme will be Rs. 6,000/- per learner per year.

However, a candidate will have to pay only Rs. 4500 in the 1st year.

An amount of Rs.1500 is waived so that the candidate can buy a set Top box for DTH connection in order to view Swayam Prabha programme i.e. Tele programme on D. El. Ed course.

The teachers will have to pay the fees for the nios deled course directly to the official website only.

The fees for enrolling in 12th Class will be in addition to the fees of the Online D.EI.Ed course. The details of the fee are available in NIOS & SSA web portal.
